TEXAS LONGHORNS
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
While traveling the state of Texas years ago shooting a book on Texas for Random House, I came across this cool wall hanging on a wall in the Marathon Hotel in Marathon, Texas. While shooting this photo, this oldtimer sitting at a table informed me that each skull represented a major win for the Texas Longhorns. Like a good alumni I gave him the "hook'em" sign with both hands crown with a big smile on my face!
PRINTS & ADVENTURES

THIRD WATCH
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOS:
I found this great log cabin on a ranch in Texas. My first thought was to just light paint the cabin. Then I decided to give the scene some life by adding the cowboy at a fire. The image required 72 photos layered on top of each other to complete. In the old film days, this shot would have required just one very long exposure:)

“the clouds are the dust of his feet.”- Nahum 1:3
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
For the past 40 years I have made several trips a year to Colorado via the notheast corner of New Mexico through Raton Pass. I have seen some of the coolest cloud structure in this area. Storms are always intense in this area for some reason. One year the storm clouds were spectacular. On the road to a dormant volcanoe called Capulin this old abandoned house caught my eye with the OMG clouds hovering over it!

CADILLAC RANCH
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
I think one of the coolest public arts out there is the Caddilac Ranch near Amarillo, Texas. I've seen a million photos of this place. Most when I was the photo editor for Texas Highways Magazine. Until that time I had never seen any photos of them lightpainted. So I headed to Amarillo to lightpaint the Caddilac Ranch. This lightpainting is beautifull in color. Very beautiful. However, this B&W version is over the top cool!

The Eagles Nest
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
The Eagles Nest was shot in the Summit area of central Colorado last February. I love to snowmobile and in the winter proves to be the best way to haul photo equipment through the snow. We had been out most of the day and had given up on finding any worthy landscapes. Storm clouds began to move in and the last thing I wanted to do is get lost in a snow storm. Then suddenly we broke through the tree line where an old cabin sat overlooking this view. At first glance, everything just seemed dull, no color. Then my minds eye pointed out the layers, textures and cuves throughout the scene and immediately I knew I was looking at an amazing B&W fine art print. I made the picture and as you can see I was not dissappointed. I just wish I could bottle up the gentle breeze with the fresh air that was there when I made this image! Please contact our Art Specialist if you are interested in acquiring a limited edition print.
