WILDLIFE FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY
Wildlife photography is what started it all for Kevin. His first assignment for National Geographic Society was about Japanese Snow Monkeys, shot while he was still in college. Vandivier's wildlife photography is award winning and the center of his photographic heart. His animal fine art picture collection includes bears, moose, eagles, cheetahs, fox, etc. The stories from his adventures with wildlife range from being charged and nearly killed by a cheetah to nearly being ambushed by a full grown python.
“Cows and Bears will eat together in Heaven”-Isaiah 11:7
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
Fall is a wonderful time to create photos of wildlife. The colors are amazing and the animals are out about in the valleys getting ready for the long cold winter. This image here ranks as my favorite bear image eating bear candy. The colors are nice, but for me the expression in ther bears eyes crack me up.

“And God saw that it was good”-Genesis 1:25
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
Another story I shot for National Geographic Society was on Cheetahs. I found a program in Texas that had found a way to successfully breed Cheetahs. Scientist had been trying to do this for over 200 years with no success. This program had finally cracked the bio code and mom gave birth to nine healthy cubs. Only nine had been born in the wild that year and none had survived, so these cats were the only ones to survive in the world that year. While shooting this assignment I came close to losing my life when I accidentally put myself between mom and one of her cubs. Mom charged me once the cub called out to her and stopped her charge just three feet in front of me. She gave me a hiss and a serious look before grabbing her cub, carrying it off. I never made that mistake again!

SUDDEN SNOW
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
Usually during the fall color change the Grand Tetons will recieve its first set of now storms. They tend to come out of nowhere, as this moose found out:) Moose can be tricky to get a good shot of since most moose images all look the same. Wild animal photography requires a lot of luck, but also field skills timed with the right weather patterns.

GRANTS ZEBRA
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:
Who doesn't love zebras? Totally one of the most creative creatures in Gods creation. Zebra's have become my most popular selling subject for animal art. When I made this
wildlife image, I had no idea how mean zebra's are compared to domestic horses. I first approached her with a wide angle. I wanted to get a superwide shot of her up close. As I walked up along side her, I took my camera off my shoulder and was in the motion of puting the strape around my neck when the the bitch turned her head and bit my arm. Yes I screamed and dropped my camera shattering the lens and severly damaging the body. In total, about 6k in repairs and replacements. I retreated to a telephoto and have yet to brave this cool shot I have in my minds eye. I love the solitude this image evokes!
