THE GREAT DIVIDE

THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:

A few years ago I made another trip to Israel to shoot landscapes and some new cityscapes. I started visiting Israel back in 1981 as the cheirf photographer for an archelogical expedition. This image is a newer image shot from the road that drives down the middle of the Mount of Olives that was built ontop of a natural drainage valley that is poised for the place where Jesus will land when He returns to earth according to the Bible...Zechariah 14:4: On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. Looking forward to that day!!!

GALILEE VIEW OF TIBERIAS

THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO:

One night after spending the day shooting around the Sea of Galilee, I sat on the sea's shores watching the sun set, when the moon appeared and the clouds lit up orange along with the lights of Tiberias on the shore....John 6:1-3: Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand 6 Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias), 2 and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs he had performed by healing the sick. 3 Then Jesus went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples.

Talk about history, the kidron Valley is full of historic stories. Many wars and battles have been fought in this valley. The valley is best known for the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was betrayed by Judas and the sacrifice ofr our sins began.
